Support Unified Proposal for Marine Protect Areas! Mon. Oct. 25
Meetings and Public Input

Support the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) designed by our community for the next Blue Ribbon Task Force meeting next week.  The MPA unified proposal will best serve the people and wildlife of northern California, because it focuses on quality, does the best job of protecting the most special places along the North Coast, and strives to best meet the Science Advisory Team (SAT) guidelines while minimizing the socioeconomic impacts to the community.

The meeting will be held at the River Lodge Conference Center,1800 Riverwalk Drive, Fortuna, CA 95540 and on the day of the meeting (for viewing or listening only) via simultaneous webcast at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/mlpa/meetings_n.asp.

Public comments will be heard at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25. Submitting written comments that can be easily summarized in one to two minutes is encouraged, according to an MLPA Initiative announcement.

There will be two public access locations for the public to view the meeting webcast and to participate in public comment:

  • Flynn Center Multipurpose Room, 981 H Street, Crescent City, CA 95531 and
  • C.V. Starr Community Center, 300 South Lincoln Street, Fort Bragg, CA 95437
